Clinically-backed Herbs
The Women's Balancing Sleep Blend herbs are backed by science for their ability to balance hormones and support restful sleep. Ingredients like ashwagandha and shatavari have been studied for their adaptogenic properties, helping to regulate stress hormones like cortisol and support reproductive health. Valerian, passionflower, and chamomile have been shown to promote relaxation and improve sleep quality by calming the nervous system. Turmeric and ginger reduce inflammation, while lavender and lemon balm offer calming effects, reducing anxiety and promoting deeper, more restorative sleep.
How To Use & Prepare
If you're chronically sleep-deprived, it can be beneficial to take the blend twice a day in smaller amounts. Start with 1 teaspoon mixed into ½ cup of warmed milk of your choice during the day, followed by a larger dose of 2 teaspoons 30 minutes before bed. This approach can help soothe an overactive nervous system and calm an anxious mind by offering support throughout the day.
For women who need occasional help with sleep or desire deeper rest, a single dose of 2 teaspoons in 1 cup of warmed milk taken 30 minutes before bed is usually sufficient. You can enhance the absorption and potency of the herbs by adding 1 teaspoon of ghee and ½ teaspoon of honey—two highly prized substances in Ayurveda.
Frequently Asked Questions
Women’s Balancing Sleep Blend combines time-honored and scientifically supported herbs like ashwagandha, valerian, and turmeric to promote restful sleep, balance hormones, reduce inflammation, and calm the nervous system, offering holistic support for women during perimenopause.
In general, many of the herbs included in the Women's Balancing Sleep Blend, such as ashwagandha, shatavari, chamomile, and lemon balm, are considered safe for long-term use when taken in appropriate amounts. These herbs are known for their adaptogenic and calming properties, which can be beneficial over time for balancing hormones, reducing stress, and improving sleep quality.
However, herbs like valerian and hops, which are more potent sedatives, may be better suited for occasional use, as prolonged consumption might lead to dependency or reduced effectiveness over time for some people.
It's always best to consult with a healthcare provider.
Valerian is a potent and effective herb for promoting sleep and relaxation. Many women find it helpful for easing into a restful night, especially during times of stress or sleeplessness. However, it's important to note that valerian can affect people differently. For a small percentage, it may cause vivid or intense dreams, which can be unsettling. If you’re unsure, start with the trial size.
Here are some guidelines:
Reduce the amount of product used in a single or daily serving, and if comfortable doing so, gradually increase it - the body may need time to adjust.
If side effects persist or are concerning, it’s advisable to consult a healthcare provider to discuss any interactions with medications or underlying health issues.
If the side effects are bothersome and not manageable, stop using the product and explore alternative options for promoting sleep.
Powdered herbs generally begin to degrade in effectiveness after about 6 to 12 months, depending on factors such as storage conditions, light, heat, moisture, and air exposure.
Keep the pouch in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, as heat and light can degrade the potency of the herbs. Ensure the resealable pouch is closed tightly after each use to prevent exposure to air and moisture, which can cause oxidation and reduce effectiveness. Avoid storing in places with temperature fluctuations, like near stoves, windows, or refrigerators.
