Pomegranate Spritzer

Posted by Lala Naidu on

Pomegranate arils are rich in polyphenol antioxidants. Specifically, pomegranate arils contain anthocyanins, which are a type of flavonoid (one of the two classes of polyphenols). Research shows anthocyanins may be associated with an array of potential health benefits, like lowering blood pressure and slowing cancer growth. Anthocyanins are what give pomegranates that beautiful ruby color. And typically, the more deeply colored the fruit is, the more antioxidants it contains.

Pomegranate Spritzer, serves 4

  • 2 cups sparkling water, such as Pellegrino
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice, try to find one that is unsweetened
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 drops of liquid stevia
  • fresh pomegranate seeds and lime slices, for serving

Martini glasses makes for a pretty and festive presentation.

Pour the sparkling water, pomegranate juice, and lime juice into a large pitcher. Stir gently. Pour the mixture into martini glasses, add a few pomegranate seeds and a slice of lime to each glass. In summer, it's nice served cold.
